Plasma Fibroblast

What is Plasma Fibroblast Treatment?

Plasma Fibroblast treatment is a non-surgical skin tighttening treatment.

How does it work?

A current is emitted via a probe or specialist tip, to produce a controlled thermal trauma to the target tissue. Thereby tightening & contracting the collagen bundles, where lax skin is present. Increasing collagen & elastin, giving the skin a more youthful appearance. Immediate results can be seen instantaneously, but collagen maturation takes 90 days for optimal results to be visible.

What conditions does Plasma Fibroblast Treatment treat?

  • Non-surgical blepharoplasty
  • Non-surgical neck lift
  • Wrinkle reduction
  • Non-surgical body lifting
  • Skin tag removal

Do I need to use skincare?

Active skincare is highly recommended pre-treatment to prepare and strengthen the skin and post-treatment to maintain long lasting results.

How will I look after the treatment?

Micro Needling

What is Micro-Needling?

Here at Artiste Cosmetic and Laser Clinic we use a needling device by Mesoestetics. This device breaks down old scar tissue and stimulate skin cells for proliferation which will result in the creation of new collagen in the skin and improved blood supply which helps to speed up cell renewal.

How does it work?

The device gently moves along the skin, penetrating the layers of the skin closest to the surface, of a depth of up to 2mm to create numerous tiny controlled wounds in the skin. The needling therapy induces a wound response in the skin helping to heal, plump, and thicken the skin, reducing the appearance of scars, wrinkles and fine lines.

What conditions does micro-needling treat?*

  • Mild to moderate acne scarring
  • Surgical scarring
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Stretch marks
  • Pore size and skin texture
  • Keloid scarring

What can I expect from the procedure?

The skin is cleaned and sterilised, we then apply sterile serums to the skin which are aimed at specific skin needs such as ageing, pigmentation or scarring. A small handheld pen like device with a sterile, disposable tip with 12 tiny needles is then used to pierce the skin. Our needling pen’s multi-speed and adjustable needle depth allow needles to pierce the skin’s layer at 90 degrees and increase the absorption of products.

How will I look after treatment?

Sometimes. Most people will experience mild redness and possibly some swelling. The same way you may feel with a mild sunburn. Effects may last for 24-48 hours and there may be pinpoint bleeding and/or bruising. Within several days to several weeks you will notice a smoother, brighter, and more radiant appearance, however, the full effects of the treatment do not appear until several months later.

What is the down time like?

The inflammatory reaction of the skin is extremely short and fades significantly within hours from redness to pinkish that may last for 12 to 48 hours. In order to reduce visible redness, we suggest applying a breathable foundation or bb cream, we use Lycogel which is recommended by plastic surgeons.

What effects does micro-needling have on the skin? *

  • Reduces pore size
  • Improves the quality and texture of the skin
  • Improves Pigmentation
  • Reduces fine lines and wrinkles
  • Improves the look of disfiguring scars from surgery, accidents or acne.

Will it be painful?

The procedure is tolerated differently in different people. Most people report that it is a bearable pain and it is only 20-25 minutes of needling the face.

Are there any risks?

Like any procedure there is always a risk of infection however the pin pricks are tiny, the procedure is performed under clinical conditions using only sterile equipment and the risk of infection is low.

How many treatments do I need and how often?

We usually recommend 4 weeks between treatments with a minimum of 3 treatments. The amount of treatments will depend on the patient and what their needs are.

Can micro-needling be performed for all skin types and colours?

Yes. Micro-needling is safe on all Fitzpatrick skin types.

  • Sun damage
  • Wrinkles
  • Fine lines
  • Age spots

Skin Peels

What is a skin peel?

Here at Artiste Cosmetic and Laser Clinic we’re using skin peels from the ASAP skin care range. A chemical peel is the application of a solution to the skins surface to exfoliate the outer layer of skin and stimulate new cell growth. The use of peels results in a reduction in congestion and improved skin texture.

How does it work?

All peels work by exfoliating the outer most layer of skin and speeding up cell remewal.

What conditions does a skin peel treat?

  • Mild to moderate acne scarring
  • Acne and pimples
  • Ageing skin
  • Pigmentation (sun damage)
  • Uneven skin colour and texture

What can I expect from the procedure?

The clients skin will be cleaned and prepped for the treatment, we then apply the chosen chemical peel solution to the skin using gauze. You may feel a mild stinging or tingling sensation while the peel is on, after having the peel on for its required time it will be cleansed off the skin.

How will I look after the treatment?

After receiving a chemical skin peel the skin may be sensitive and a little red. Wait 6 hours before washing your face after the treatment, as the skin flakes and begins to peel, continue to wash your face twice daily but be gentle while doing so. Do not remove any flaking skin physically, but let it fall off naturally. If the flaking skin is annoying you apply moisturiser to the area.

What is the down time like?

Skin peels do not require any down time however clients are advised to avoid excessive sweating (exercising), saunas, swimming pools for 24-48hrs post treatment . Avoid using cleanser with salicylic or alpha hydroxy acids or any other exfoliating products.

What effect does chemical peels have on the skin?

  • Improving the skin’s color, clarity, tone and texture
  • Stimulating new collagen and healthy skin cell growth, resulting in a radiant complexion
  • Reducing discoloration caused by sun damage
  • Helping to clear up breakouts
  • Smoothing away the look of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Increasing hydration of the skin
  • Addressing visible skin imperfections and superficial scars
  • Enabling skincare products used at home to be more effective because a peel can remove several layers of skin build-up and congestion, allowing products to penetrate deeper into the skin

Are there any risks in getting a chemical peel?

Patients can expect some relatively common chemical peel side effects, such as mild irritation, redness, and peeling. These side effects will usually last for only a few days. The majority of patients who undergo a chemical peel suffer no serious side effects as a result of the procedure. However, potential severe risks of chemical peels include permanent scarring, permanent pigment change for people with darker skin, and chemical burns.

How many treatments are needed, and how often?

It varies depending on what the client is needing the chemical peels for, but we suggest you only require six to ten chemical peel treatments to achieve the best results. Generally it is best to get a peel every four to six weeks.

Can skin peels be performed on all skin types and colour?

Yes. Chemical skin peels are safe for all skin types and colour. However extra caution needs to be taken with darker skin tones and some peels will not be appropriate, your therapist will discuss with you if they are concerned.
